How to calculate kilo volts-ampere of equipments?
For single phase, kilo volt-ampere (kVA) is equal to rated voltage (V) multiply by current. Divide that result by thousand to get the final result in kilo volt-ampere.
Example: Let us say you have 230 VAC equipment and current is 100 amps. The calculated kilo volt-ampere is 23 kVA.
For three phase, kilo volt-ampere (kVA) is equal to square-root of three multiply by rated voltage (V) multiply by rated current (I) whole divided by thousand.
Example: Let us say you have transformer at LV side voltage is 415 VAC and rated current 2000. For this transformer, the calculated kVA is 1435.9 kVA.
